Here is a summary of the Christian study in 3-4 concise sentences: The author challenges the idea that God never delivers us from all our fears, citing David's experience as recorded in Psalm 34. Instead, fear can be a manifestation of self-centeredness and foolish pride, hindering trust and reliance on God. Seeking God is key to overcoming fear, but it requires perseverance, patience, and a willingness to focus on Him for sustained periods. Through seeking the Lord, believers can find victory over fear and deliverance from its debilitating effects.

==Deliverance From Fear==
Walk With Jesus Daily

"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34.4

Surely David was mistaken, yes?

Or perhaps he was just a special "Daddy's boy"?

After all, God never delivers us from ALL our fears, does He?

If He does, then why do so many disciples have so many fears that disable them from living in a manner which glorifies God?

Why do so many disciples have so many fears that keep them from stepping out in faith?

Well, first of all, David was an adulterer and a murderer.

Therefore, if he found that God delivered HIM from all his fears, then he cannot be such a special case, can he? (One excuse eliminated!) AND, he lived under the "Old" covenant, without the empowerment of the indwelling Holy Spirit! (uh-oh, excusitis is getting backed into a corner)

Fear is a waste of time and energy. If you will sit down and write a list of your fears, past and present, you will see, if you are honest, that 99% of them never came into being!

Yet, we allowed those shadows and vain imaginations to paralyse us. To stop us from getting outside of our comfort zone and beyond ourselves.

Is it possible that much of our fears are just manifestations of self-centeredness?

Is it possible that many of our fears are manifestations of foolish pride?

Are our fears really an expression of failure or refusal to rely upon and trust the Lord God of hosts?

David does give us the key to victory over fear: SEEK the Lord. This is not the magic lantern approach to a genie god, where we rub the lantern and get three instant wishes.

SEEKING is like mining for gold: one must keep digging and keep panning, and be content with finding the gold little by little.

SEEKING is similar to finding answers on the Internet ... one must overcome the frustrations of timed-out connections, and inadequate returns from the search engine inquiries.

SEEKING is similar to finding the purpose of life, and "happiness".

If we seek the Lord, He will answer.

He probably will not give the complete answer at once, and He probably will wait until we have really focused upon Him for a sustained period of time.

In other words, as we get to know Him, we find the answers, and we find deliverance from ALL our fears.

We may not ever stop having the appearance of fear, but we can have victory over fear. Unless we enjoy the excuse it gives us to do nothing!

In those cases, the supposed seeking of the Lord is superficial window dressing to support good old excusitis.
[[Category:Deliverance & Healing]]
