<ol> <li>Lamentations was probably written shortly after the destruction of Jerusalem. <li>Lamentations is an Acrostic Arrangement which is a verse or arrangement of words in which certain letters in each line, as the first or last, when taken in order spell out a word, motto, etc. <li>In Lamentations each chapter has 22 verses or a multiple of 22 verses. <li>The 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet are used in succession to begin each verse in chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. <li>In chapter 3 each of the 22 Hebrew letters are used in succession after every third verse. <li>The three Jewish grouping of writings in the Old Testament are: </ol> <ul> <li>The Law <li>The Prophets <li>The Writings </ul> <ol> <li>The Rolls are read publicly at a Jewish Festival. <li>The five rolls are: </ol> <ul> <li>The Song of Solomon <li>Ruth <li>Ecclesiastes <li>Esther <li>Lamentations </ul> [[Category:Bible]]
